Ras Al Khaimah on Track to Enjoy Region’s Best Hotel Occupancy Rate

The UAE is traditionally one of the strongest performing markets in the tourism industry. The country is expected to start registering 20-23 million tourists by 2025

Many reasons back this impressive performance. Apart from being among the best tourist attraction sites globally, the government has a successful strategy to keep the flow of foreign money inside the Emirates.

Dubai remains to be the most popular tourist attraction emirate with the highest hotel occupancy rate. However, more Emirates are emerging to fight for the number one position. One of those is the Ras Al Khaimah.

According to Colliers International, Ras Al Khaimah city is projected to get a hotel occupancy rate of 75% by the end of 2021. And many factors are attributing to this.

  1. Luxury Hotels

2020 was a good year for Ras Al Khaimah, regardless of the pandemic. Thanks to its quick response to the Covid-19. It hastened its recovery to return to the hotel business. The same trail followed into 2021.

The hotels spread out within the 64-kilometer beach resumed receiving visitors as soon as they met covid-19 operating standards. But you can only be allowed occupancy if you have a covid-19 vaccine certificate.

The hotels that have maintained their popularity in the region are the new Al Hamra Mall and the artificial island Al Marjan. The latter has a popular resort known as Rixos Bab Al Bahr, which has sprawling pools and pyramid-shaped towers.

Visitors working on a lean budget can book mid-range hotels in the region. The most popular is the DoubleTree Hilton Resort and Spa. It’s known for the beautiful private beach and family-friendly leisure activities.

  1. Strategic Position And Good Governance

Speaking to TBY, Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr agreed that his emirate has a long history of political stability and consistency in favorable policy creation for investors.

He goes on further to say that Ras Al Khaimah is well-situated to take advantage of investments from advanced economies like America, Europe, and developing economies from Africa and further to the west,

Most of these Investors are attracted by the business-friendly environment and conditions that make it favorable to navigate the administrative systems. For example, you won’t be entitled to tax payment as a foreign investor. This is far much better than the USA, which charges nonresidents a dividend tax rate of 30% on the dividend amount.

As a testimony of the success of the Ras Al Khaimah, the world bank ranked it number 45 as one of the most business-friendly places out of 190 entrants. It was ahead of all GCC countries.

  1. Ras Al Khaimah Beaches

Ras Khaimah is mainly known for its beautiful sandy beaches, which are relaxing spots for sun-seekers and surfers. It’s the best alternative if you don’t want to travel to the beaches in Thailand or Africa.

The hotels on the shoreline have more than enough leisure facilities to keep you busy during your staycation. These include cafes, freshwater showers, sun lounges, and more.

In case you get bored, you can try leisure activities beyond the beach. You can dive into the clear ocean for Snorkeling, Jet boating, rent a boat to tour the marine life, or cruise towards Oman’s Musandam Peninsula.

That’s not all. Most of the hotels organize excursions for mountain drive or desert safari on a 4-wheel drive to experience the desert heat first hand.

  1. National Museum

The most famous museum in the emirate is the Ras Al Khameri museum. It is located near the Mohammed bin Salim Mosque at the western edge of the emirate.

The museum is inside a fort that was the residence of the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi family in the 1960s. It’s dedicated to displaying the traditional life of the Arabs, including architecture, farming, fishing, and more information about the ruling family.

Some of the exciting things you’ll get in the museums are a collection of manuscripts, documents between Great Britain and the rulers of Ras Al Khaimah. You’ll also get a chance to view the traditional weapons used by the kingdom.

Conclusion

The hotel occupancy rates in Ras Al Khaimah will seemingly maintain a high trajectory in the coming years. The government is coming with strategies to ramp up their tourist attraction which is paying off.

For example, Ras Al Khaimah was recently named 2021 Gulf tourism capital for the second consecutive year by the gulf cooperation council. There’s no doubt that we will be getting more headlines from the emirate when it comes to tourism.
